EKU

EKU's journey began in 1962 in Karabük, as Türkiye's first brake drum manufacturer. For over 60 years it has not stopped producing, learning and evolving, growing into the largest production centre for brake drums and brake discs in Türkiye and Europe. It was the first Turkish company to export brake drums to Europe and the USA.

The foundry

With a melting capacity of 350,000 tons, this is Europe's largest foundry in its field. It covers the full chain — casting, machining, painting, packaging and storage — on two fully automated moulding lines. In the core shop, 2,000,000 cores are produced each year in automated cells and placed into moulds by robotic systems.

The machining plant

Running 3,500,000 pieces a year, it is Europe's largest for machining heavy-duty brake drums and discs. Every product is processed in robotic cells fitted with current automated measurement systems.

R&D and quality

An R&D centre develops new materials and production techniques, and the laboratory tests every product against EKU standards under all geographic conditions. The company works to a zero-defect principle with continuous investment in measurement technology.

EKU is the world's first foundry to receive an environmental award, and the first and only one honoured with it by the Turkish Casting Manufacturers Association (TUDOKSAD), in 2015.
